"Stablecoin 2.0" is the core concept of the Stability project. While traditional stablecoins typically retain the yield generated from their underlying treasury reserves, Stability introduces a more user-centric model. It splits the generated yield and returns it to the ecosystem participants. This evolution focuses on Real-World Asset (RWA) integration, ensuring that the value generated by the collateral benefits the holders rather than just the issuer.

The project is led by a team of high-profile industry veterans, providing it with significant credibility. The co-founders include Reeve Collins, who is well-known as the co-founder and former CEO of Tether, alongside Dr. Avtar Sehra and Bundeep Singh Rangar. The project also receives strategic backing from Wave Digital Assets, combining deep experience in traditional finance and decentralized protocols to bridge RWAs with Web3.

Stability utilizes a unique multi-token architecture to manage governance and yield: 1. $STBL: The primary governance and value-accrual token of the protocol. 2. USST: A stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the US Dollar, fully backed by Real-World Assets. 3. YLD: A specialized NFT issued during the USST minting process. It represents the holder's right to claim the yield generated by the underlying collateral. This system allows for the separation of liquidity and interest-earning potential.

Multi-Factor Staking (MFS) is a unique mechanism designed to reward long-term ecosystem participants. Instead of just staking $STBL, users can "co-lock" USST to significantly boost their reward multipliers. The protocol also employs "Time-Lock Boosts," where choosing longer lock-up durations (such as six months versus one month) increases a user's voting power and their overall share of the rewards. Selling $STBL or unlocking early typically results in the loss of these multipliers and associated governance rights.

The USST stablecoin is backed by high-quality, transparent Real-World Assets. This primarily includes tokenized U.S. Treasuries and Money Market Funds, such as BlackRock’s BUIDL. To ensure security and trust, the protocol is non-custodial, meaning users maintain control of their assets via smart contracts. Furthermore, Stability has undergone rigorous security audits by reputable firms, including Cyfrin and Nethermind, to verify the integrity of its code and collateral management systems.

Yield Stripping is a technical innovation that allows users to separate the principal value from the interest. When users deposit supported yield-bearing assets into the Stability dApp to mint USST, they receive the liquid stablecoin (principal) and a YLD NFT (interest). This allows users to utilize their USST for transactions or trading while still earning the yield generated by their original collateral. It effectively provides liquidity without sacrificing the earning potential of the underlying RWA.
