Plaza LevETH (levETH) is a programmable derivative token built on the Base network. It is designed to provide users with leveraged exposure to Ethereum’s price movements. Unlike traditional margin trading or perpetual contracts, levETH utilizes a unique vault structure that splits a pool of Liquid Staking Tokens (LSTs) into different tranches. As a product token, it captures the amplified upside of the underlying ETH pool, making it a specialized tool for traders seeking leveraged long positions without the complexities of traditional debt-based systems.

Within the Plaza Finance protocol, the ETH pool is divided into two distinct products: bondETH and levETH. bondETH is tailored for risk-averse investors, functioning similarly to a decentralized bond by providing a stable income stream backed by staked ETH. In contrast, levETH is designed for bullish investors. It absorbs the volatility and potential growth of the pool, providing amplified exposure to ETH price increases. While bondETH holders prioritize stability, levETH holders seek higher returns through programmable leverage.

One of the most significant features of levETH is its liquidation-free design. In traditional finance and many DeFi protocols, leverage is achieved by borrowing funds, which carries the risk of a margin call or liquidation if the asset's price drops significantly. Plaza Finance avoids this by using a synthetic vault structure backed by Liquid Staking Tokens. Because there is no external lender or debt to repay, there is no mechanism to trigger a liquidation. However, users should remain aware that levETH is highly volatile and its value can decrease significantly if the price of ETH falls.

Plaza Points are part of the protocol’s reward system for early participants and supporters. Users can earn points by holding assets like levETH or bondETH in their wallets. Additionally, participating in liquidity pools on supported platforms like LBank or the protocol’s native dApp can provide multipliers, significantly increasing the rate at which points are accumulated. These points are widely anticipated to be a key factor in future token distributions, incentivizing long-term engagement within the Plaza Finance ecosystem.

It is important to distinguish between levETH and the upcoming Plaza Token. levETH is a product token—a derivative designed specifically for leveraged exposure to Ethereum. It does not carry governance rights. On the other hand, the Plaza Token, scheduled for launch in late 2025, will serve as the protocol’s official governance and ownership token. Holding the Plaza Token will allow users to participate in decision-making processes regarding the protocol’s development, fee structures, and future asset listings.

Plaza Finance has an ambitious roadmap focused on expansion and asset diversification. While currently live on the Base network, the protocol plans to expand to Ethereum Mainnet and other Layer 2 solutions. Furthermore, the team intends to introduce new programmable derivatives beyond Ethereum, such as bondBTC and levBTC, which will offer similar leveraged and bond-like exposure for Bitcoin. A major milestone includes the official governance token launch and a distribution event for early testers, traders, and holders scheduled for Q3 2025.
