Ocelex is a decentralized exchange (DEX) and liquidity marketplace built natively on the Zircuit blockchain. It employs a "ve3,3" (Vote-Escrowed) model designed to reward long-term participants and optimize liquidity for projects within the Zircuit ecosystem. To interact with the platform, users bridge their assets to the Zircuit network, where they can trade or provide liquidity. By serving as a central liquidity hub, Ocelex facilitates efficient asset swapping and incentivizes deep liquidity for the entire network.

The Ocelex ecosystem uses three distinct token types. OCX is the primary utility token used for rewards and liquidity. When users lock their OCX, they receive veOCX, an NFT that represents their voting power; holders use it to direct rewards to specific pools and earn protocol fees. Finally, oOCX (Option OCX) is a reward token given to liquidity providers. It functions as a call option, allowing users to acquire OCX at a significant discount or convert it into veOCX to further increase their governance influence.

There are three primary avenues for earning rewards. First, users can provide liquidity by depositing token pairs into pools to earn oOCX emissions. Second, participants can lock their OCX tokens to receive veOCX, granting them governance rights. Third, veOCX holders can vote on "gauges" to determine which liquidity pools receive the most rewards. Voters are rewarded with 100% of the trading fees and external incentives, known as bribes, generated by the specific pools they supported.

Bribes are external incentives provided by projects to encourage veOCX holders to vote for their specific liquidity pools. When a project deposits tokens as bribes, it increases the OCX emissions directed to that pool, which helps attract more liquidity for that project's token. In return, the veOCX holders who cast their votes for that pool receive these bribe tokens directly. This mechanism creates a competitive marketplace for liquidity where projects can efficiently bootstrap their token's depth.

Ocelex represents an expansion of the Lynex ecosystem onto the Zircuit blockchain, utilizing a similar battle-tested codebase and incentive structure. This relationship allows Ocelex to benefit from established technical expertise while tailoring its liquidity solutions to the specific needs of the Zircuit community, effectively bridging the governance and liquidity models between the two networks.

The initial distribution of Ocelex tokens focused on rewarding active ecosystem participants. Eligibility for the community allocation included long-term veLYNX holders from the Linea network and participants in the Zircuit Launchpool. Additionally, users of several leading partner decentralized protocols were included in the distribution.
