Meso Finance is a non-custodial, pool-based liquidity market that enables decentralized lending and borrowing. Users can supply assets such as APT or stablecoins to earn interest or use them as collateral to borrow liquidity without selling their holdings. The protocol is built on the Aptos blockchain to take advantage of its high throughput and low latency. Furthermore, it utilizes the Move programming language, which provides enhanced safety features designed to prevent common smart contract vulnerabilities found in other blockchain environments.

The MESO token serves four main functions: governance for voting on protocol upgrades, staking to secure the network in exchange for rewards, fee discounts for active users, and incentives for liquidity providers. The total supply is fixed at 1,000,000,000 tokens. The distribution is allocated as follows: 25% for community incentives, 20% for marketing, 20% for the core team, 12% for the foundation treasury, and 10% for seed investors.

Users accumulate Meso Points by engaging with the protocol through supplying assets, borrowing, and completing specific social tasks. A referral system is also in place to provide bonus points for active participants. This points system is designed to track early involvement for potential retroactive distributions. Additionally, users can participate in specialized events on platforms like LBank, which may involve meeting net deposit requirements and activity thresholds to qualify for project-related rewards.

Meso Finance stands out through several specialized risk management tools. It features an Efficiency Mode (E-Mode) that allows for higher Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratios on highly correlated assets. It also utilizes Isolation Mode, which permits the listing of newer or higher-risk assets with restricted parameters to protect the overall protocol. Additionally, a Safety Module is implemented to safeguard the system against potential shortfall events, ensuring a more robust environment for lenders and borrowers.

Liquidation is triggered when a user's Health Factor drops below 1, which occurs if the collateral value decreases or the borrowed debt value increases. During liquidation, a penalty is typically applied to the debt being repaid to compensate the liquidator. To maintain a healthy account and avoid this process, users are encouraged to monitor their positions regularly and maintain a sufficient margin by either adding more collateral or repaying a portion of their loan during market fluctuations.

To interact with the protocol, users must utilize Aptos-compatible wallets. The protocol discourages the practice of 'looping'—depositing and borrowing the same asset—to ensure the health of the liquidity mining system. For trading, the MESO token is available on decentralized exchanges within the Aptos ecosystem and on centralized platforms like LBank. As the protocol matures, it continues to seek broader integration across major trading venues and decentralized finance service providers.
