ZerePy is an open-source Python framework designed to help developers build, deploy, and manage autonomous AI agents. These agents can operate across multiple social platforms, such as Twitter/X, Discord, and Farcaster, and interact with various blockchain networks, including Solana, Ethereum, and Polygon. The framework provides the tools necessary for agents to engage in social activities and execute on-chain transactions autonomously.

Zerebro is the flagship AI agent and the core brand within the ecosystem that demonstrated the potential of autonomous AI. ZerePy is the developer framework derived from Zerebro’s backend. While Zerebro is a specific implementation, ZerePy is the toolkit that allows any developer to launch their own agents with similar capabilities, effectively decentralizing the technology used to create Zerebro.

The project was co-founded by Jeffy Yu, a developer who has gained significant recognition within the Solana AI space. He is known for his work in creating infrastructure that bridges the gap between artificial intelligence and blockchain technology, facilitating the rise of autonomous agents in the decentralized finance and social sectors.

Tokens within the ecosystem serve several critical functions. They are used to pay for agent deployment fees and provide access to premium or advanced AI features. Furthermore, they play a role in ecosystem governance through a DAO structure and are used to incentivize decentralized AI training. While multiple tokens may exist in the community, the primary ecosystem asset is designed to capture the value generated by the ZerePy framework.

ZerePy is a multi-chain framework supporting Solana, Ethereum, Polygon, Sonic, and Monad. It is built using Python and integrates with leading Large Language Model (LLM) providers like OpenAI and Anthropic. For users preferring local execution, it supports Ollama. Additionally, it features integrations like Echochambers for agent-to-agent communication and tools for complex DeFi actions like token swaps and security checks.

ZerePy distinguishes itself as a Python-centric alternative to other major industry frameworks. It is specifically optimized for the Zerebro community and high-speed interactions on the Solana blockchain. Rather than competing in a vacuum, ZerePy emphasizes open-source collaboration and has established relationships with other leading agent protocols to share contributions.
