Yup is a Web3 social aggregator and "social consensus" protocol that consolidates content from various platforms like Farcaster, Lens, Bluesky, and Twitter/X into a single feed. The protocol rewards users for social consensus, which is the ability to curate and identify valuable content. Users earn rewards for their curation skills, essentially being incentivized for their "good opinions" and their ability to highlight high-quality content before it becomes widely popular.

Every user on the Yup platform has an Influence score ranging from 0 to 100, representing their social capital within the protocol. This score is calculated based on two main factors: token age (the amount of YUP tokens held and the duration of holding) and activity (the accuracy and frequency of content ratings). A higher Influence score gives a user's votes and ratings more weight in the protocol's consensus mechanism, which allows them to earn higher rewards for curation activities.

Users earn YUP tokens by actively participating in content curation and creation. When you rate content, such as by liking or upvoting, you are eligible for curation rewards if other users with high Influence scores later agree with your assessment. This system incentivizes identifying quality content early. Rewards are typically distributed every 24 hours. Additionally, creating content that receives positive ratings from the community serves as another pathway to earning tokens within the ecosystem.

YUP tokens are available on leading trading platforms, including LBank. The token exists natively on the Yup Protocol but functions as an ERC-20 token through various bridges. While it originated on Ethereum and Polygon, the project has increasingly focused on the Base network to take advantage of lower transaction fees. This multi-chain approach ensures that users can manage their assets and participate in the ecosystem with greater flexibility and reduced costs.

New accounts undergo an approval process that can take up to 72 hours. This delay is a security measure designed to ensure sybil and bot resistance, maintaining the integrity of the social consensus. Regarding security, because Yup is decentralized and utilizes wallet-based or email-linked authentication without a central server, there is no traditional password reset function. Users must safeguard their access credentials carefully, as losing them may require starting a new account and requesting a manual transfer of status.

The protocol utilizes a staking system where users can maximize their yield through specific multipliers. These multipliers are determined by two primary factors: lock duration and voting power. By committing tokens for longer periods and maintaining high activity levels in governance, users can significantly boost their rewards. This mechanism is designed to reward long-term supporters and active participants who contribute to the protocol's decision-making process and overall network stability.
