Wicrypt is a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) that enables a peer-to-peer WiFi sharing economy. Through the custom Wicrypt OS, the project allows individuals and businesses to act as mini-Internet Service Providers (ISPs). While Wicrypt does not provide the data itself—requiring a SIM card or fixed-line connection from a local provider—it provides the essential software layer to manage, encrypt, and monetize that data sharing.

The $WNT (Wicrypt Network Token) is the native utility and governance token for the network. It is an ERC-20 token utilized for mining rewards, staking, and network governance. Currently live on both the Polygon and Arbitrum networks, $WNT can be acquired on leading exchanges such as LBank. For users looking to move tokens between chains, the project provides an official bridge to ensure liquidity across supported ecosystems.

Mining $WNT is performed by sharing internet data with others. To participate, users need a Wicrypt-enabled device, such as the Spider or Lynx hubs, or the Wicrypt mobile app for smartphones. To activate mining rewards in business mode, users are required to stake a minimum amount of $WNT. This 'Stake-to-Mine' model ensures network security and rewards are distributed based on device uptime and the volume of data successfully shared.

Every physical Wicrypt hardware device is linked to a unique digital NFT on the blockchain. This NFT serves as a digital twin, containing metadata such as the device's location, connection speed, and uptime history. It acts as a verifiable proof of ownership, allowing the network to accurately assign mining rewards to the correct user and facilitating the management of the decentralized infrastructure.

Participants can generate revenue through several channels. First, they earn mining rewards in $WNT based on their hotspot's performance and data throughput. Second, hosts can set their own custom rates to charge users for data usage. Additionally, users can lock their tokens in the native staking protocol for yield. A new feature also allows hub owners to earn extra income by displaying advertisements to users who connect to their WiFi.

Wicrypt is 'ISP-agnostic,' meaning it can work globally regardless of the local internet provider. As long as a user has access to a mobile network signal or a fixed-line connection, they can integrate the Wicrypt OS to share their data. The project is currently focusing on expanding its device penetration globally, with recent strategic efforts specifically targeting growth in North American markets including the US and Canada.
