ValleyDAO is a decentralized community-driven organization dedicated to funding and incubating synthetic biology research. Its primary mission is to transition "bench-side" academic discoveries into real-world commercial applications, specifically targeting climate change. By leveraging a decentralized model, the project aims to solve global challenges like sustainable food production and carbon sequestration through innovative biological solutions, moving research from the lab to the market.

ValleyDAO focuses exclusively on climate-biotech and synthetic biology. Supported projects typically involve carbon remediation, sustainable agriculture, and the development of eco-friendly materials. It is important to note that the organization specifically avoids funding research related to human health or pharmaceuticals, staying strictly within the environmental and industrial biotechnology sectors to maximize its impact on climate-related issues.

GROW is a multichain token available on prominent trading platforms such as LBank, as well as various decentralized exchanges across the Ethereum, Base, and Solana networks. To facilitate movement between these different blockchains, ValleyDAO provides an official bridge powered by the Wormhole SDK. This allows users to move their GROW tokens across supported chains efficiently and securely.

The GROW token is central to the ecosystem, providing four main utilities: governance, staking, incentives, and access. Holders use GROW to vote on research proposals and funding allocations. Through staking, users participate in "curation" to signal project priority. GROW is also used to reward contributors in working groups for their skills. Lastly, it provides "first-look" access or co-investment opportunities in startups that spin out from the DAO's research.

ValleyDAO employs a core Decentralized Science (DeSci) concept known as IP-NFTs (Intellectual Property Non-Fungible Tokens). When the DAO funds a research lab, the resulting intellectual property is tokenized. This framework allows the IP to be managed and governed by the DAO rather than a private board. This ensures that the community holding GROW tokens has a role in the management and potential commercialization of the scientific breakthroughs they funded.

ValleyDAO offers multiple avenues for non-scientists to get involved through specialized "Working Groups" focused on Operations, Growth, and Technology. Contributors can provide value through marketing, community management, legal support, or software development. These contributors are compensated in GROW tokens, allowing anyone with useful professional skills to support the advancement of climate-biotech research regardless of their scientific background.
