The UBE token serves as the governance token for the Ubeswap protocol, empowering its holders with significant influence over its future development. Yield farming on Ubeswap is designed to incentivize users to provide liquidity to the protocol. It works by rewarding liquidity providers (LPs) with UBE tokens. When users contribute their assets to specific liquidity pools, they become eligible to earn these UBE rewards. This mechanism encourages a greater supply of assets within the pools, which in turn helps to facilitate more efficient and cheaper on-chain trades for all users by ensuring sufficient liquidity is always available. The UBE rewards act as an additional incentive beyond the standard trading fees earned by LPs.

Liquidity pools on Ubeswap enable token trading by providing a reserve of two different assets. When users add liquidity to these pools, they contribute an equal 50/50 ratio of two tokens. In return for providing this liquidity, they receive a proportional share of the trading fees generated by that specific pair, which is 0.25% of all trades. These fees are automatically added back into the pool, increasing the value of their share in real-time. This model is similar to established AMMs like Uniswap, allowing for continuous and automated trading without traditional order books.

Impermanent loss is a significant risk that liquidity providers (LPs) face in Ubeswap’s liquidity pools. It occurs when the price ratio of the tokens an LP has deposited changes relative to when they initially provided liquidity. If one or both tokens experience significant price volatility, the value of the assets held within the pool can diverge from simply holding those assets outside the pool. This means the LP might end up with a lower dollar value than if they had just held their initial tokens individually, rather than depositing them into the pool. It's a "loss" that becomes "permanent" only if the LP withdraws their assets before the prices revert to their initial ratios.
