The Rug Game is a gamified DeFi ecosystem launched by CultDAO. It functions as a 30–60 day elimination contest involving ten distinct tokens named after the letters T, H, E, R, U, G, G, A, M, and E. TRG serves as the ecosystem's central governance token, designed to persist across all rounds, while the individual letter tokens compete to avoid being eliminated from the game.
No, the "rug" is a transparent, automated game mechanic governed by smart contracts. Every 30–60 days, the token with the lowest burn score is automatically "rugged." This means its liquidity is removed and repurposed to buy back TRG for the DAO and stakers. This strategic design transforms the concept of a rug pull into a rules-based, competitive event rather than a fraudulent exit.
Each of the ten game tokens features a 4% transaction tax. This tax is distributed through four channels: 1% is used to buy and burn CULT tokens, 1% buys and burns the TRG governance token, 1% burns the specific game token itself, and the final 1% is collected as ETH to fund the prize pool for the round's eventual winners.
Survival is based on a scoring system tied to "burns." At the end of each round, the system calculates the total numerical value of tokens burned across the game token, CULT, and TRG. The token with the lowest total burn value is eliminated and its liquidity is drained, while tokens with higher burn scores survive to progress to the next stage of the competition.
Holders can influence the game's outcome by "bribing" the DAO with TRG or CULT tokens. A bribe provides a chosen letter token with 150% of the bribe's value in points, significantly helping it avoid being rugged. Half of the bribe amount is permanently burned, while the other 50% is distributed to TRG or CULT stakers as a reward for their participation.
TRG governance tokens can be traded on major platforms such as LBank and other leading global exchanges. The experimental letter tokens are primarily available on decentralized exchanges. Because the name "THE RUG GAME" contains repeating letters, the project uses symbols like G and E to distinguish between different tokens and their respective liquidity pools.
