StarSharks is an NFT-GameFi ecosystem built on the BNB Chain, known as a community-driven shark metaverse. Its primary goal is to empower players, developers, and investors to collectively shape the value of underlying NFTs within a sustainable ecosystem. The project aims to eliminate barriers between different games by allowing players to use the same characters across various gaming experiences, fostering a unique community culture within the "Shark-metaverse."

StarSharks utilizes a dual-token model. SSS (StarSharks Shard) is the governance token, with a total supply of 100 million. SSS holders can stake their tokens for veSSS, granting voting power in community governance and a share of platform earnings, and high-ranking players earn SSS as seasonal awards. SEA is the in-game currency, primarily used for transactions. Notably, 90% of SEA from Mystery Box purchases are burned, with the remainder distributed to referrers.

The StarSharks ecosystem revolves around unique NFT sharks, which players need to participate in games like the PVP/PVE battle game, StarSharks: Warriors, and StarSharks: Race, alongside a "HomeLand" beta. Key features include a staking mechanism for SSS holders to earn rewards and participate in governance via veSSS, sharing in platform earnings from sources like NFT marketplace fees. There's also an NFT marketplace and a leasing system allowing players to rent out their NFT sharks, sharing earnings with the staking reward pool and development team. Community governance is central to the metaverse's collective building and management.

StarSharks is a collaborative project driven by game players, a governance committee, and game developers. Binance Labs, the venture capital and incubator arm of Binance, has made a strategic investment. The project successfully raised $4.8 million from a diverse group of investors, including prominent names such as LD Capital, NGC Ventures, and GenBlock Capital, highlighting strong institutional backing for its Web3 initiative.

While initial roadmaps covered milestones like the IDO and early game launches, current development includes enhancements to existing games such as StarSharks: Race and the introduction of new experiences like StarSharks: HomeLand. The long-term vision for StarSharks involves independently developing more games to expand its offerings. Eventually, the project aims to provide external developers with access to the Shark metaverse, fostering a broader ecosystem of interconnected gaming experiences and content creation.
