sYUSD is the yield-bearing, staked version of YUSD. When YUSD is deposited into a staking contract, users receive sYUSD, which represents their proportional share of the staking pool. It's designed to automatically accrue and compound profits, implementing the ERC4626 Token Vault standard for on-chain reward accrual.

sYUSD automatically accrues BTC funding-rate yield. This yield is not paid out separately to users. Instead, it is continuously accumulated into the underlying value of sYUSD. This mechanism causes the value of sYUSD to appreciate over time relative to YUSD, effectively compounding the profits directly into the staked asset.

The value of sYUSD increases relative to YUSD because rewards are internalized within the sYUSD token itself. As the staking pool grows due to accrued yield, each sYUSD token becomes progressively worth more YUSD. For instance, if you initially stake 100 YUSD and receive 100 sYUSD, over time, the value of each sYUSD could rise to represent 1.05 YUSD or more, reflecting the accumulated earnings.

No, there is no need for manual reward claiming with sYUSD. The yield generation mechanism is designed to be entirely automatic and self-compounding. The rising exchange rate between sYUSD and YUSD inherently captures all the accrued yield. This means your sYUSD balance automatically reflects your earnings without any additional actions required from you.

Unstaking sYUSD typically offers two methods. The "Standard Unstake" involves initiating a process that triggers a 7-day cooldown period. After this period, your sYUSD is converted back to YUSD. Alternatively, for immediate liquidity, you can use the "Instant Exit" option by swapping sYUSD in supported liquidity pools. This allows for an instant exit at current market rates without waiting for the cooldown.
