sTLOS is a liquid staking token on the Telos EVM, serving as a fungible and tradable deposit receipt for TLOS tokens staked into a vault. It enables users to stake their TLOS while maintaining critical liquidity. Built on the ERC-4626 standard, it represents staked TLOS and allows for participation in DeFi activities without unlocking the underlying asset.
Users deposit their TLOS tokens into an ERC-4626 compliant vault on the Telos EVM. In return, they receive an equivalent amount of sTLOS tokens. This process can be easily initiated via the Telos Web Wallet or Teloscan. The sTLOS received represents their staked TLOS, allowing them to benefit from staking rewards while retaining a tradable asset.
Staking TLOS for sTLOS offers several advantages: Users earn staking rewards that are automatically compounded, causing the sTLOS value to continuously rise relative to TLOS. It provides liquidity, enabling sTLOS to be used in other DeFi protocols for additional yield, unlike traditional locked staking. As a single-asset token, it also eliminates the risk of impermanent loss.
The staking rewards for sTLOS are drawn from the Telos reserve account, specifically designated as 'exrsrv.tf'.
