Solayer is a native restaking protocol built on the Solana blockchain. Its primary objective is to enhance the scalability and security of the Solana network by enabling users to re-stake their assets. This mechanism allows staked tokens to secure additional decentralized applications and services, known as Actively Validated Services, or AVS. By creating a shared security model, Solayer helps new projects and networks leverage the existing economic security of the Solana ecosystem. Technically, Solayer introduces an infrastructure called InfiniSVM. This system focuses on hardware acceleration to overcome traditional blockchain performance bottlenecks. It utilizes specialized technologies such as InfiniBand and Remote Direct Memory Access to facilitate near-instant communication between network nodes. Through these innovations, the project targets extremely high transaction throughput and minimal latency, aiming to support complex financial applications like high-frequency trading and institutional decentralized finance. The ecosystem utilizes a multi-token model. The LAYER token is the native utility and governance asset of the protocol. Holders of LAYER can participate in the governance process by voting on protocol upgrades, supported assets, and the allocation of ecosystem funds. It is also designed to serve future roles in network fees and staking incentives. Another key asset is sSOL, a liquid restaking token that represents a user's staked SOL. This allows participants to earn rewards and contribute to network security while keeping their assets liquid for use in other decentralized finance protocols. Additionally, the project includes sUSD, a yield-bearing stablecoin. The protocol functions through several core components. The Restaking Pool Manager handles the deposit of assets and their conversion into liquid restaking tokens. The Delegation Manager oversees the allocation of these assets to various services to ensure proper security distribution. Finally, a Reward Accounting Unit tracks and calculates user incentives based on their staking activity.
