Meanwhile, rETH2 (Reward ETH) represents the staking rewards your deposit has earned, also maintaining a 1:1 ratio with ETH rewards. This structure allows users to manage their staked principal and accumulated rewards as distinct assets.
You earn rETH2 rewards simply by holding sETH2 in your digital wallet. The protocol automatically calculates and distributes rewards to all sETH2 holders approximately every 24 hours. These rewards are minted directly to your address via an oracle-based contract update, reflecting the performance of the underlying validators in the staking pool.
Because rETH2 is minted directly to your address through a contract update rather than a standard transfer, many wallets and blockchain explorers do not automatically detect the balance change. To see your tokens, you must manually add the rETH2 contract address to your wallet. You can also verify your balance by using the 'balanceOf' function on the token's contract page via a blockchain explorer.
