Redacted Cartel, often referred to by its token name Redacted btrfly, is a decentralized finance project that functions as a suite of smart contracts providing governance and liquidity services across the web3 ecosystem. Originally emerging as a subDAO of Olympus DAO, the project focuses on acquiring governance power in influential decentralized protocols to help manage how liquidity and rewards are distributed. The primary mission of the project is to create a meta governance layer for the decentralized finance space. It achieves this by accumulating a treasury of various governance tokens through a bonding process. This treasury allows the protocol to influence voting outcomes in other major ecosystems such as Curve Finance and Frax. The ecosystem is built around several core products. Hidden Hand is a marketplace for governance incentives where different protocols can offer rewards to users in exchange for their voting power. This system helps protocols efficiently direct incentives to their specific pools or proposals. Another key product is Pirex, which provides liquid staking and wrappers for governance tokens. This allows users to keep their assets liquid while still participating in reward compounding and maintaining access to their underlying utility. The newest addition is the Dinero suite, which focuses on Ethereum liquid staking and the development of a decentralized stablecoin. The btrfly token is the central utility and governance asset of the protocol. It is used to vote on proposals that guide the direction of the DAO and the management of its treasury assets. Users have the option to lock their tokens into a specific version that grants them access to protocol generated incentives. This mechanism encourages long term participation and alignment with the project goals. In recent developments, the project has initiated a rebranding effort to transition into the Dinero Protocol.
