Ramses is a concentrated liquidity decentralized exchange (DEX) built on the ve(3,3) model. While it originally launched on Arbitrum, its primary focus and current evolution are centered on HyperEVM, the EVM-compatible layer of the Hyperliquid ecosystem. It is designed to provide high capital efficiency and low slippage by allowing the community to vote on the distribution of token emissions.
RAM is the liquid utility token used for trading. xRAM is a non-transferable version used for governance; converting RAM to xRAM triggers a 50% burn of the RAM, making it deflationary. HyperRAM is a Liquid Staking Token (LST) for xRAM that is transferable and auto-compounds rewards like fees and bribes, allowing users to earn staking benefits while maintaining liquidity.
Users can exit xRAM through three main methods: 1) Instant Exit, which allows redeeming xRAM for RAM at a 1:0.5 ratio (resulting in a 50% loss); 2) Vesting, which involves a 120-day waiting period to receive RAM at a 1:1 ratio; or 3) Swapping, by converting xRAM into HyperRAM to sell on the open market.
There are three primary earning paths: Liquidity Providers (LPs) earn $RAM emissions for providing assets to pools; Voters (xRAM holders) receive 100% of swap fees and external incentives called 'bribes' for voting on pools; and HyperRAM holders benefit from the auto-compounding of these fees and bribes directly into the token's value.
In traditional DEX models, trading fees typically go to liquidity providers. Ramses utilizes a 'bribe and vote' system where swap fees and external incentives are directed to users who lock their tokens as xRAM and vote on pool emissions. Liquidity providers are instead rewarded with $RAM emissions, creating a governance-driven incentive structure.
