Pluton (PLU) is an ERC20 loyalty reward token operating on the Ethereum blockchain, initially conceived in 2015. Its main purpose is to incentivize everyday spending by providing users with rebates on their purchases. PLU represents genuine ownership of loyalty rewards, a key benefit over traditional programs, by leveraging early-stage blockchain technology.
Users accumulate PLU as a rebate from purchases. This earned PLU can then be used within the application for savings or "stacked" in a self-custody arrangement to earn further rewards. When PLU is used to top up a spending balance, no fees are incurred, and these transactions receive the highest processing priority on the platform.
Holding and stacking PLU grants users access to various "Reward Levels," which offer increased reward rates. Stacking also enables participation in the Compounding Rewards Yield (CRY) feature, generating additional daily PLU rewards. Users can stack PLU either directly in the platform's app or via a connected wallet. Long-term stacking contributes to overall PLU earnings and can lead to multipliers.
A dynamic 33% fee, levied in local currency, applies to PLU reward withdrawals. While self-custody payouts to personal wallets do not impact yearly multipliers, transferring PLU from a connected wallet to an unconnected third-party wallet without meeting specific conditions, such as a 12-month CRY stacking period, may result in payout restrictions or account closure. Payout eligibility is also contingent on consistent and productive in-app engagement.
The total supply of PLU is strictly capped at 20 million tokens. An initial portion (5% to 9.25%) was allocated for specific purposes like crowdsales, exchange listings, and the Plutus Development Fund. The vast majority of the supply, however, resides in the Pluton Rewards Pool. This pool is exclusively dedicated to community rewards and is released gradually via a smart contract over more than 150 years, ensuring long-term distribution.
Plutus ensures sustainability through a mechanism called FUEL. This system applies a 5% fee on all on-chain sales and transfers of PLU. The PLU collected from these fees is then reinvested directly back into the rewards pool. This innovative approach allows for additional rewards to be entirely self-sustainable, eliminating the need to mint new tokens. This model has been reviewed by experts for its long-term viability.
