OpiPets is a free-to-play, play-and-earn (P&E) economy-based role-playing game (RPG) built on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC). It focuses on extensive customization, allowing players to create, battle, collect, and sell unique NFT OpiPets within the "Opiverse." The game features over 60 hand-drawn OpiPets and thousands of cosmetic and battle items for personalized customization.

Players can engage in diverse activities such as completing quests, exploring various biomes, trading items through in-game shops and marketplaces, and navigating challenging dungeons to earn the in-game utility token (OPI). The core gameplay loop involves actively leveling up Opi-Pets and then minting them into unique NFTs, which are then used for battling.

OpiPets are designed with a strong emphasis on customization, allowing players to transform their uniquely customized OpiPets into NFTs. These NFTs possess significant in-game utility, complete with distinct skins, valuable items, and the pets themselves. The project aims to redefine digital ownership by enabling players to collect, extensively customize, breed, battle, and ultimately sell their unique NFT OpiPets.

OPIP is the primary token associated with the OpiPets project. The project has strategically segregated its tokens, with OPI serving as the dedicated in-game utility token for various activities. Fundraising for the OPIP token has been successfully conducted through multiple IDO and private funding rounds, supporting the project's development and ecosystem.

The OPIP Token Generation Event (TGE) and subsequent listings on centralized and decentralized exchanges were unexpectedly postponed in March 2023. This delay was caused by a critical incompatibility discovered between the appointed market maker and the crypto exchange designated for the launch. This issue prevented the team from guaranteeing the essential protection of token prices and ensuring the project's long-term success if they had proceeded as originally scheduled.

The OpiPets team publicly acknowledged and apologized for the oversight, taking full responsibility for the launch delay. They committed to promptly finding suitable replacements and announcing new launch dates. As a gesture of good faith and to compensate those affected by the inconvenience, they offered an exclusive OpiPet NFT with in-game utility to any participant who maintained confidence in the project and chose not to request a refund.
