PayUSD is specifically engineered for seamless digital payments and aims to connect traditional finance with the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem. It is issued by a regulated trust company and is fully backed by U.S. dollar deposits, short-term Treasuries, and equivalent cash assets, ensuring its stable 1:1 value with the dollar.

In the context of PayFi, "last-mile liquidity" refers to the provision of immediate access to capital for businesses that have pending payment obligations in the future. This mechanism significantly helps in providing instant capital access, thereby reducing the delays commonly associated with traditional payment systems.
