By locking their MARE tokens, users acquire veMare Finance. This veMare Finance specifically represents their accumulated voting power, enabling them to participate in and shape key decisions regarding the protocol's operations and evolution, ensuring a community-driven development path.

MARE tokens are available for trading on various decentralized exchanges (DEXs). Users can typically acquire them by swapping a stablecoin or other compatible cryptocurrencies for MARE on any supported DEX. Additionally, certain Web3 wallets often integrate functionality that allows direct swaps from stablecoins to MARE tokens, providing a convenient way to obtain them without needing to navigate complex exchange interfaces. Your portion of the total Mare Finance in the Stability Pool directly determines your entitlement to liquidation gains and MARE token emissions. For instance, holding 1% of the total pool grants you 1% of the distributed rewards.
