Kite AI, also referred to as KITEAI, is a Web3 project centered around building a foundational transaction layer for what it terms the "agentic internet" or a decentralized AI economy. Its core mission is to empower autonomous artificial intelligence (AI) agents to operate, interact, and conduct transactions with a focus on identity, trust, payments, and verification. The project aims to foster a fair AI economy where contributions from all participants are rewarded equitably, shifting away from centralized control over AI models and data. Technologically, Kite AI is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain. A key innovation is its Proof of Attributed Intelligence (PoAI) consensus mechanism, designed to ensure fair attribution and rewards for various contributions across data providers, AI models, and AI agents. The platform prioritizes scalability, featuring fast block times and very low transaction fees. It provides a comprehensive infrastructure including unified identity through an "Agent Passport" or "Kite Pass," along with robust payment and governance rails specifically for AI agents. Furthermore, Kite AI is actively working on bridging Web2 and Web3 environments, enabling AI agents to function seamlessly across both. The network also supports customizable subnets tailored for specialized AI workflows. The project envisions several use cases for its platform. These include facilitating machine-to-machine payments, allowing AI agents to pay each other for services, ensuring proper attribution and royalties for collaborative AI model development, and supporting a decentralized data economy. Ultimately, it aims to enable AI agents to independently pay, trade, and collaborate within a trusted and verifiable environment. The native token of the Kite AI ecosystem is KITE (or $KITE). This token serves various functions within the platform, including governance, providing incentives, facilitating coordination, and enabling settlement across the AI agent ecosystem. It is also used to power payments, allowing AI agents to pay for services and users to access AI data, compute resources, and APIs. Kite AI has garnered support and partnerships within both the blockchain and AI industries. It is notably backed by PayPal Ventures, Samsung, and other venture capitalists. The project also collaborates with leading blockchain infrastructure providers such as Eigenlayer, Story Protocol, zkSync, Polygon, and Chainlink, and is integrated with the Avalanche ecosystem.
