Holders of kmHYPE essentially "co-own" the Markets DEX and earn a share of its revenue, whereas kHYPE holders primarily earn validator staking rewards.
kmHYPE is a reward-accruing token where its value increases relative to HYPE over time, rather than receiving rebased tokens. Yield comes from two sources: staking the underlying HYPE with validators (specifically Kinetiq x Hyperion validator) and capturing 10% of the protocol revenue generated from trading fees on the Markets DEX.
Originally, kmHYPE was available via a whitelist-only funding round where users swapped kHYPE, pro-rated by KNTQ holdings. Now, you can acquire it by trading on supported decentralized exchanges. Alternatively, if the supply cap hasn't been reached, you can stake HYPE directly on the Kinetiq dApp to mint kmHYPE.
