Integritee AG, the original founding entity, officially ceased its operations and infrastructure support on November 11, 2025. The project has since transitioned into a "community-run" phase. While there is no longer a central corporate team driving development, the network remains functional as long as independent collators continue to run nodes. The project's continuity now relies entirely on its decentralized community of holders and technical contributors.

The transition was driven by three primary factors identified by the founders: critical security vulnerabilities discovered in Intel SGX hardware, lower-than-anticipated adoption rates in the enterprise and Web3 sectors, and the shifting landscape of the broader ecosystem. These challenges led to the decision to hand over control and remaining resources to the community rather than continuing under a centralized corporate structure.

Control of the project has been transferred to on-chain governance, which is managed by TEER token holders. The original founding team transferred its remaining holdings to the network's parachain treasuries. These funds are now managed by the community, who use governance voting to determine how resources are allocated for the network's maintenance and future initiatives.

The TEER token remains central to the network's operations. Its primary functions include paying for privacy-preserving computation fees, rewarding node operators (collators) for securing the network, and governance. In this new phase, its most critical role is enabling holders to vote on governance proposals, effectively giving them the power to decide the direction of the project and the use of the remaining treasury.

A Trusted Execution Environment is a secure area within a computer processor designed to protect data during processing from the rest of the system. Integritee specifically utilized Intel SGX for this purpose. However, the discovery of vulnerabilities such as "WireTap," which could allow for potential data leakage from these secure enclaves, significantly impacted confidence in the hardware's trustless nature and contributed to the project's strategic shift.

TEER is available for trading on exchanges such as LBank and various decentralized platforms within the ecosystem. To manage tokens across different parachains, users can utilize the specialized bridge and portal tools. These features allow for the movement of assets between the Kusama and Polkadot environments, enabling users to access different liquidity pools and participate in governance across the network's various implementations.
