The Internet Computer's "canister" smart contracts enable interactions with other blockchain networks, such as wrapped Bitcoin (ckBTC), bringing more liquidity to the ecosystem. The ICS token plays a crucial role in the ICPSwap ecosystem. It serves as a utility token for various platform services, including minting tokens, creating communities, and advertising. ICS also functions as the governance token, allowing holders to propose and vote on platform changes and participate in the decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) framework. A significant feature of ICS is its deflationary mechanism. All revenue generated by ICPSwap, such as swap fees and fees from other services, is used to repurchase and burn ICS tokens, which reduces the total supply over time.
