HLUSD is an asset-backed synthetic dollar designed to maintain a 1:1 peg with the US Dollar. It serves as the primary currency for the HeLa ecosystem, a Layer 1 blockchain focused on real-world adoption and AI infrastructure. Developed by a team of scientists and engineers, HLUSD provides a stable foundation for decentralized applications and everyday transactions.

HLUSD is a fiat-backed synthetic dollar rather than an algorithmic stablecoin. Its 1:1 peg is maintained through full collateralization, with reserves primarily consisting of assets like USDC held by regulated custodians and licensed financial institutions. This model avoids the volatility of algorithmic systems by relying on collateralized assets, ensuring stability and reliable redemption options for users.

A primary feature of the HeLa Chain is that gas fees are paid in HLUSD instead of a volatile utility token. This ensures transaction costs remain predictable and low, regardless of market conditions. By using a stablecoin for network fees, HeLa provides a business-friendly environment where developers and enterprises can forecast operational costs accurately without worrying about the price fluctuations typically seen on other blockchains.

HLUSD is available on prominent centralized exchanges, including LBank. Beyond trading, its primary use cases include paying network gas fees, facilitating peer-to-peer payments, and serving as a settlement currency.
