Giddy is a self-custodial, recoverable smart wallet. Its primary purpose is to simplify access to decentralized finance (DeFi) and reduce the entry barrier for new users. The platform aims to make sophisticated DeFi investing accessible to a much broader audience, regardless of their prior crypto experience. It streamlines the complexities of DeFi, offering an intuitive interface for managing digital assets.

Giddy distinguishes itself by prioritizing user experience and ease of use, designed to feel more like a traditional banking application than a complex crypto wallet. A significant differentiator is its innovative private key technology. Instead of requiring users to manage a traditional seed phrase, Giddy splits the private key into multiple parts. This approach allows users to maintain self-custody of their assets without the common hurdle of securely managing and remembering a lengthy recovery phrase, simplifying access to DeFi.

Giddy protects user funds through a unique, distributed private key management system. The private key is split into three distinct parts: a password created by the user, the user's hardware device (such as their phone), and a social login credential (like a Google or Apple ID). This multi-factor approach significantly enhances security because no single component is sufficient to compromise the funds. Users can also recover their assets by successfully providing any two out of these three independent parts, ensuring both robust protection and a reliable recovery mechanism.

In the Giddy app, users maintain full ownership and control over their digital assets. Giddy operates as a self-custody wallet, which means that users directly own their private keys and, consequently, their cryptocurrency. Unlike custodial services where a third party holds the keys, Giddy's design ensures that users have complete sovereignty over their funds. This fundamental principle aligns with the core values of Web3, empowering individuals with direct ownership and management of their financial resources.

The $GIDDY token primarily serves as an integral part of the infrastructure within the Giddy ecosystem. While users can perform various tasks within the application without necessarily holding the token, $GIDDY is designed with meaningful utilities to enhance the overall security and ease of use across the blockchain. Giddy initially launched with support for the Polygon blockchain.
