These NFT sales are conducted using OMI tokens, which can then be transferred to a cryptocurrency exchange like LBank and subsequently sold for fiat currency.

StackR is a crucial third-party marketplace, developed in collaboration with ECOMI, that facilitates peer-to-peer trading of VeVe NFTs. Operating on the Base (Coinbase L2) network, StackR uses OMI tokens as its exclusive trading currency. This marketplace empowers users with self-custody over their digital assets and serves as the primary hub for OMI token utility within the VeVe ecosystem. It's where collectors buy and sell NFTs, driving demand and usage for OMI through a decentralized environment.

OMI officially expanded its presence to the Base ecosystem in May 2024. While OMI tokens continue to exist as ERC-20 tokens on the Ethereum Layer 1, Base has now become the designated primary layer for all significant OMI utility. This includes essential functions such as OMI-to-Gem conversions and participation in marketplace rewards programs. While migrating OMI to Base is not mandatory, users who wish to utilize these in-app rewards or engage with the StackR marketplace must bridge their tokens to the Base network using designated bridges.

OMI tokens are burned through several distinct mechanisms, primarily aimed at reducing the circulating supply and enhancing token scarcity. Firstly, every conversion from OMI to VeVe Gems triggers a significant 7% OMI burn from the circulating supply. Secondly, a percentage of transaction fees generated on the StackR marketplace is also dedicated to OMI burns. Additionally, in early 2025, ECOMI performed a substantial manual burn, removing approximately 5.6 billion OMI from its business development fund to further decrease the total supply.

As of late 2025/early 2026, OMI tokens are available for purchase on major cryptocurrency exchanges, including LBank and other prominent platforms. For decentralized trading options, OMI is also heavily traded on various decentralized exchanges (DEXs) operating on the Base network. For secure storage, OMI, being an ERC-20 token on both Ethereum L1 and Base, is compatible with hardware wallets like Ledger and Trezor.
