Cycle Network is a specialized "Layer 0" omni-chain settlement layer designed to unify the fragmented Web3 landscape. It addresses the issue of liquidity fragmentation, where digital assets are isolated on specific blockchains like Ethereum, BNB Chain, or Solana. By providing a single settlement layer, Cycle Network allows developers and users to interact across different chains seamlessly without the need for traditional token bridges, ensuring that liquidity can be utilized natively regardless of the underlying network.

Cycle Network is not a bridge. Traditional bridges typically "wrap" tokens, which involves locking an asset on one chain and minting a synthetic version on another. Instead, Cycle Network utilizes Verifiable State Aggregation (VSA) to synchronize account states across multiple chains. This allows assets to be used natively without moving them through vulnerable middle-man bridges or creating wrapped versions, significantly reducing security risks and improving efficiency.

The $CYC token is central to the ecosystem with four primary functions. First, it is used to pay for gas fees for transactions on the Cycle mainnet. Second, developers pay $CYC to access the "Rollin/Rollout" SDK for building cross-chain dApps. Third, users can stake $CYC to secure the network and earn participation rewards. Verifiable State Aggregation is the core technology of Cycle Network. It uses Zero-Knowledge (ZK) proofs to verify that a transaction has occurred on a source chain before authorizing a corresponding action on a destination chain. This ensures a trustless environment where the system doesn't just send messages between chains, but actually finalizes the state of assets. This technical approach enables "chain abstraction," where the complexities of moving between different blockchains are hidden from the end user.

CycleUnit is a decentralized custody and settlement network within the Cycle ecosystem. It allows decentralized exchanges to offer native cross-chain trading capabilities without having to build or maintain their own independent bridges. By integrating CycleUnit, DEXs can provide a more fluid experience where users trade assets across different blockchains directly, benefiting from the security of Cycle's verifiable settlement infrastructure and the liquidity of the entire network.
