It serves as the native base currency for Curio Chain, an application-specific blockchain designed to facilitate the tokenization of real-world assets. The project was launched by a Swiss-based team and is closely associated with the CurioInvest platform, which focuses on bringing traditional investment opportunities into the digital asset space. The technology behind the project is built using the Substrate framework. Curio Chain operates as a parachain within the broader Polkadot and Kusama network, which allows it to benefit from cross-chain interoperability while maintaining its own specialized functions.
