CrossCurve BTC (XBTC) is a crypto project focused on addressing fragmented liquidity across different blockchains. It operates as a cross-chain trading and yield protocol built on top of Curve, aiming to create a unified cross-chain liquidity market by aggregating existing Curve pools. The core problem CrossCurve seeks to solve is the inefficiency and cost associated with fragmented liquidity across multiple blockchains. Transferring large amounts of assets between chains can be inefficient, slow, inconvenient, and prone to security risks like bridge hacks. Liquidity often moves between blockchains in pursuit of higher yields, leading to competition for liquidity incentives. CrossCurve MetaLayer is a unified decentralized infrastructure for cross-chain liquidity and incentives, leveraging the Curve Automated Market Maker (AMM). This enables efficient swaps, yield generation, and access to deep DeFi liquidity secured by what they call the Consensus Bridge. The project's goals include offering a safe, cost-efficient, and convenient method for transferring large volumes of liquidity between chains, and enabling projects to scale quickly while enhancing the efficiency of their capital utilization. CrossCurve's unique architecture is designed to enhance liquidity utilization efficiency, aiming for low slippage rates during cross-chain exchanges, even for large transactions. It also aims to cut costs and allow projects to scale quickly by attracting users from various blockchains and rapidly expanding the utility of their tokens across networks. The Consensus Bridge used by CrossCurve employs multiple independent verification protocols, including LayerZero, Axelar, Wormhole, and Chainlink CCIP, requiring transactions to be confirmed by several protocols for enhanced security. The CrossCurve DAO governs the Consensus Bridge, with community voting determining changes. XBTC tokens can be used for arbitrage trading and earning yield through lending or other products on platforms. CrossCurve has connected to 21 EVM blockchains.
