Following its major transition to Centrifuge V3 in 2025, Centrifuge consolidated all legacy "Substrate CFG" tokens from Polkadot and "Wrapped CFG" (WCFG) tokens into a single, unified ERC-20 token standard on the Ethereum blockchain. This strategic move streamlines the token ecosystem, ensuring all CFG tokens now operate natively within the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) environment, providing a more consistent and accessible experience for holders across the ecosystem.

Centrifuge transitioned to the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) ecosystem, including Ethereum, Base, and Arbitrum, for several strategic advantages. This shift provides access to significantly deeper liquidity pools, enhances DeFi composability with a wider array of established protocols, and simplifies integration processes for institutional partners. The move aims to broaden Centrifuge's reach and strengthen its position in the Real-World Asset (RWA) space by leveraging the robust infrastructure and expansive developer community of Ethereum.

Centrifuge facilitates the onboarding of Real-World Assets (RWAs) by tokenizing physical assets such as invoices, supply chain financing, or real estate into unique Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). These NFTs legally represent ownership or claims on the underlying assets. Once tokenized, these NFTs are then utilized as verifiable collateral within Centrifuge's liquidity pools. Investors can contribute stablecoins to these pools, earning yield in exchange for providing financing against these tokenized real-world assets.

The CFG token serves as the foundational utility token for the Centrifuge protocol, encompassing three primary functions. Firstly, it grants holders Governance rights, allowing them to vote on crucial protocol changes, upgrades, and treasury management decisions. Secondly, CFG is used to pay for Transaction Fees across the Centrifuge network, ensuring smooth and secure on-chain operations. Lastly, it acts as a mechanism for Incentives, rewarding liquidity providers and participants for their contributions to the protocol's liquidity pools and overall ecosystem growth.

Centrifuge has become aware of various "Step-by-Step" guides circulating on online platforms, falsely claiming a CFG token airdrop for users within the TON network ecosystem. It is crucial for the community to understand that these claims are widely considered to be a scam or phishing attempt. Official Centrifuge rewards and distributions are exclusively managed and disseminated through their verified EVM dashboard. There is currently no official or native Centrifuge airdrop planned or active on the TON network. Always verify information through Centrifuge's official channels.
