CARV operates as a modular Identity and Data Layer (IDL) specifically designed for the gaming and AI sectors. Its unique value proposition lies in its strong emphasis on data sovereignty. Unlike traditional GameFi projects that primarily focus on in-game token earning, CARV empowers users to truly own, control, and monetize their personal gaming and AI-related data. The $CARV token serves multiple essential utilities within the ecosystem. It is primarily used for governance, allowing token holders to participate in decision-making processes. Additionally, it functions as the gas payment token on the CARV SVM, which is the AI agentic chain. The token is also utilized for purchasing in-game assets across the integrated ecosystem. Furthermore, $CARV acts as a crucial incentive mechanism, rewarding data providers and owners for their contributions and participation in the network.

$CARV is the liquid, tradable token within the ecosystem, easily bought, sold, and transferred. In contrast, veCARV, which stands for voting-escrow CARV, is a non-transferable version of the token. Its primary purpose is for governance participation and earning rewards. Users acquire veCARV by staking their $CARV tokens or by operating nodes. This mechanism incentivizes long-term commitment and active participation in the project's direction and success.

Converting veCARV back to $CARV involves a redemption period designed to manage liquidity and prevent immediate sell-offs. The process operates on a sliding scale for unlocking your $CARV tokens. For instance, if you choose a shorter redemption period of 15 days, you will receive 25% of your $CARV. Opting for a 90-day period increases the redemption rate to 60%. For a full 100% redemption of your $CARV tokens, users must commit to a 150-day unlocking period.

The Node Buyback Program offers operators protection for their investment, providing two distinct options. To qualify for either, a node must maintain a 70% participation rate over a 6-month period. The first option is a 100% Buyback, where operators receive the full value of their purchase in $CARV tokens, based on the USDT price at the time of purchase. These tokens are then linearly vested over 30 days. The second option is an 80% Buyback, paid immediately in ETH, offering quicker access to funds for those who prefer an alternative asset.

Airdrop allocations can be lower than expected primarily due to the project's robust anti-Sybil filtering mechanisms. CARV utilizes tools like Gitcoin Passport and Nansen to detect and flag accounts suspected of being bots or engaging in Sybil attacks. If an account is identified as Sybil, its airdrop allocation is significantly reduced, sometimes to a nominal amount. This measure ensures fairness and rewards genuine participants, prioritizing community engagement over artificial account proliferation.
