Blockless is a Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN) project designed to create a modular compute network. Its primary goal is to enable users to contribute computing power to applications automatically via its network, aiming to provide verifiable and trustless computation for complex Web3 applications. It addresses the need for a decentralized, flexible, and reliable way to run Web3 applications by leveraging distributed computing resources.

Blockless operates using WebAssembly (WASM) as its application framework and incorporates "nestled nodes" directly embedded within applications. This allows users to supply computing resources simply by opening an application. It functions as a WASM-based, verifiable serverless functions platform, supporting diverse decentralized applications with flexibility, scalability, and reliability. The network is permissionless, accommodating various hardware, from Android devices to high-performance servers. Blockless also employs zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs to ensure the integrity and trustworthiness of off-chain computations.

Blockless distinguishes itself by enabling users to contribute computing power through their everyday devices simply by interacting with applications, removing the need for dedicated nodes or extra software. It acts as a "matchmaking service" connecting applications with user-provided computational power, similar to how ride-sharing platforms connect drivers with riders. The project prioritizes WASM for enhanced security and ease of development, and its device-agnostic design allows a broader range of personal devices to support applications. This contrasts with some other decentralized compute projects that may require more specialized setups.

The native token for Blockless is BLESS. It will be essential for node staking by individuals who contribute computing resources to the Blockless network. Payments for execution services within the platform will also utilize the BLESS token. Furthermore, a portion of the network's proceeds is allocated for direct token burning, which can contribute to its scarcity and long-term value proposition.

Users can earn BLESS tokens through a mining process that requires no initial investment. This mining is time-based, and connecting social media accounts, such as Twitter and Discord, can significantly increase the mining percentage, boosting earning potential. An 80% airdrop of BLESS tokens is also anticipated in the first quarter of 2025, providing another avenue for users to acquire tokens as the project progresses.

Blockless launched its testnet in May 2023. The project is advancing towards its mainnet launch, along with the official introduction of the native BLESS token, which is scheduled for the third quarter of 2024. Currently, Phase 2 of its incentivized testnet is actively underway, indicating ongoing development, testing, and community engagement before the full public release and broader adoption of its decentralized compute network.
