BlackPool is a pioneer in the NFT quantitative hedge fund space, operating as a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). It functions as a crypto-native fund that acquires, trades, and rents out digital assets within the gaming and metaverse sectors. By managing a diversified portfolio in titles like Sorare and Axie Infinity, the DAO generates value for its ecosystem members. It is designed to bridge the gap between professional asset management and the burgeoning play-to-earn economy.

The DAO is actively involved in several gaming "verticals," including fantasy sports (Sorare), creature battling (Axie Infinity), and role-playing games (Big Time). BlackPool frequently explores and incubates new play-to-earn projects through its "Seedclub" initiative. This approach allows the DAO to maintain a presence across various genres, ensuring a diversified portfolio of high-value digital assets within the gaming ecosystem.

BPT is the native ERC-20 governance token of the BlackPool ecosystem. xBPT is a version of the token that traditionally represented a share of the DAO's earnings. veBPT (Voting Escrow BPT) consists of BPT locked for a specific period to grant holders voting power and boosted rewards. Additionally, liquid locker versions like sdBPT allow users to earn rewards and participate in governance while maintaining asset liquidity, providing flexibility compared to traditional locking mechanisms.

While the DAO previously distributed rewards in ETH from gaming profits, recent governance updates have shifted the focus toward exclusive perks. Members can now access alpha information on new gaming projects, gain priority spots in private token sales, and receive exclusive in-game items or VIP event invitations. This evolution aims to transform the DAO into a "Gaming Collective" where members actively engage with assets rather than holding tokens passively.

Governance is decentralized and driven by token holders. Voting typically occurs on secure governance platforms for users who have locked their BPT into veBPT or liquid locker variants. BPT is available for trading on LBank and various decentralized exchanges across the Ethereum and Polygon networks. To manage assets, users can import the contract addresses into compatible digital wallets.
