The ".e" suffix signifies its Ethereum origin and its wrapped status on Avalanche.

To obtain DAI.e, you typically bridge DAI from the Ethereum network to the Avalanche C-Chain using the official Avalanche Bridge. This involves sending your ERC-20 DAI to the Avalanche Bridge address on Ethereum, which then locks these assets and mints an equivalent DAI.e on Avalanche.
