The project, which resulted from the merger of Astherus and APX Finance, functions as a multi-asset liquidity hub and decentralized perpetual exchange. The primary purpose of asCAKE is to provide liquidity and utility for users who hold CAKE, the native token of the PancakeSwap decentralized exchange. In traditional staking systems like PancakeSwap's voting escrow model, users often have to lock their assets for extended periods to receive benefits. Aster solves this by allowing users to stake their CAKE on its platform to mint asCAKE. This allows holders to maintain liquidity, as the minted tokens can be moved, traded, or used as collateral within the Aster ecosystem while the underlying assets are effectively working.
