APX is the native utility and governance token for APX Finance, a decentralized derivatives exchange primarily built on the BNB Chain. APX Finance offers a platform for trading perpetual futures with high leverage and low fees, blending the benefits of decentralized finance, like self-custody and transparency, with the efficiency of traditional exchanges.

APX Finance operates on a hybrid model, integrating an order book for accurate price discovery and Automated Liquidity Pools (ALP) to consolidate oracle pricing and reduce MEV risks. The platform supports both an order book (V1) and a fully on-chain pool-to-peer liquidity model (V2) for perpetual contracts, employing dual price oracles. This design enables traders to utilize high leverage and experience low slippage.

The APX token offers multiple utilities within its ecosystem. Historically, it was used for trading fees. Currently, it's earned by traders and liquidity stakers as rewards. Staking APX grants voting power for DAO governance decisions, enabling community participation. Furthermore, APX stakers can earn yields by providing liquidity to Automated Liquidity Pools, and users can generate income through staking or lending APX.

The total supply of APX is capped at 10 billion tokens. Its allocation was strategically planned, with 50% designated for liquidity providers and trading rewards distributed over a decade. The community treasury received 26.2%, while 9.5% was allocated for marketing and partnerships. Early users were assigned 8.3%, retroactive mining rewards received 3.5%, and 6% was set aside for initial exchange listings.

The project, initially named ApolloX Finance, rebranded to APX Finance in November 2023 to highlight its commitment to decentralization. Subsequently, in 2025, APX Finance merged with Astherus to establish Aster, a new multi-chain decentralized exchange. This merger allowed APX token holders to swap their tokens for ASTER at a 1:1 ratio, integrating them into the consolidated ecosystem. The future trajectory of APX is now closely tied to Aster's multi-chain growth.

Users can earn rewards by staking APX tokens, which may also activate multiplier systems for enhanced benefits. Furthermore, by acting as a Liquidity Provider (LP) within the Automated Liquidity Pools (ALP), participants can receive a share of the platform's trading income (50%) and additional staking rewards. These opportunities are available on the BNB Smart Chain and other networks supported by the platform.
