Stable Sea has integrated WisdomTree’s tokenized U.S. Treasury money market fund into its platform.

Summary
  • Stable Sea integrated WisdomTree’s WTGXX fund to help firms manage idle corporate cash.
  • WTGXX held $857.64 million in assets and offered a 3.43% daily yield.
  • Tokenized Treasury funds are gaining use in cash management and collateral markets.

The move gives businesses another way to earn yield on idle cash while using blockchain-based fund infrastructure. Stable Sea said the WisdomTree Government Money Market Digital Fund, known as WTGXX, is now available to corporate clients.

The integration allows businesses to allocate excess cash to a government-backed fund instead of keeping all balances in low-yield bank accounts.

Stable Sea provides treasury software that moves, or “sweeps,” corporate cash into yield-bearing products. With WTGXX, the firm extends that service to a tokenized fund that records ownership onchain.

Corporate cash management gains tokenized option

The product targets businesses and treasury teams looking for better cash management tools. Companies can access the fund through Stable Sea’s platform, which connects with existing financial systems.

Clients must still complete onboarding and standard compliance checks. This reflects the regulated nature of the money market fund and its use in corporate finance.

WTGXX mainly invests in short-term U.S. government securities, including Treasury bills. Its tokenized structure may support faster settlement and more automated transactions than older fund systems.

WisdomTree fund offers Treasury-backed yield

WisdomTree data showed WTGXX had $857.64 million in total assets as of April 28. The fund also offered a daily yield of 3.43%.

The fund is designed as a money market product backed by short-term government assets. This makes it part of a wider trend in tokenized Treasury products.

WisdomTree recently received U.S. SEC approval to allow 24/7 trading for WTGXX. That move lets investors access and move fund shares outside normal market hours.

Tokenized money market funds draw institutional use

Tokenized money market funds are gaining attention from institutions seeking yield, liquidity, and easier settlement.

Franklin Templeton and Binance have also worked on tokenized fund shares for off-exchange collateral. Eligible institutions can use shares issued through the Benji platform to support trading activity.

Standard Chartered also launched a framework allowing clients to use BlackRock’s tokenized short-term Treasury fund as collateral on OKX.

Richard Baker, CEO and founder of Tokenovate, said the move “signals another instance of tokenization’s transition into the heart of core market infrastructure.”

Northern Trust Asset Management has also entered the market with a tokenized share class of its Treasury Instruments Portfolio.
