Uniswap founder Hayden Adams has submitted a landmark governance proposal. The plan, titled “UNInception,” aims to activate protocol fees and align incentives across the ecosystem. Adams stated this is the first step toward a full on-chain vote.

The cold war between decentralized finance (DeFi) and Wall Street incumbents turned hot Tuesday, with Uniswap Labs founder Hayden Adams accusing Citadel Securities of engineering a regulatory kill-switch for the industry. Adams alleges the market-making giant is pressuring the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to legally reclassify software developers as “centralized intermediaries,” a designation that would impose impossible compliance burdens on permissionless protocols.

The Federal Reserve delivered its first rate cut of 2025, lowering the federal funds rate by 25 basis points. The move pushed the U.S. dollar to its weakest level in more than three years while risk assets, from equities to commodities to crypto, surged on the shift.

UNI, the governance token of the Ethereum-based Uniswap decentralized exchange, has maintained a sustained bullish momentum for the first time since the beginning of 2025. The crypto asset has returned seven bullish weekly candles in the past eight weeks, breaking out of a prolonged downward trend and setting up a classic bullish structure.

The cryptocurrency market is starting to show signs of a shift, with Ethereum gaining momentum around the $2,700 mark after 8% rise.
